Andiamo: Love, from Italy
Andiamo introduces three of the brightest young stars on the Italian classical crossover scene, Giovanni Cavaretta, Paolo Fanale and Claudio Catalano, in a concert of the world's most beloved Italian songs. The distinctive and powerful voices of this new trio, together with bright new arrangements of the familiar Neapolitan repertoire, create a musical jewel box of sun-filled, Italian memories.
Originally debuting on PBS throughout most of the country, Andiamo: Live from Italy captures the vocal group consisting of three tenors performing over a dozen numbers including "O Sole Mio," "Volare," "Funiculi, Funicula," and "Mona Lisa."

Brothers: The Hidden History of the Kennedy Years
David Talbot
Simon & Schuster Hardcover, 478pp, 28.00
For decades, books about John or Robert Kennedy have woven either a shimmering tale of Camelot gallantry or a tawdry story of runaway ambition and reckless personal behavior. But the real story of the Kennedys in the 1960s has long been submerged -- until now. In Brothers: The Hidden History of the Kennedy Years, David Talbot sheds a dramatic new light on the tumultuous inner life of the Kennedy presidency and its stunning aftermath. Talbot, the founder of Salon.com, has written a gripping political history that is sure to be one of the most talked-about books of the year.

Songs for Swingin' Lovers!
Frank Sinatra
In 1956, Sinatra returned to up-tempo, swing material with Songs for Swingin' Lovers!, arguably the vocalist's greatest swing set. Sinatra is supremely confident throughout the album, singing with authority and joy. That joy is replicated in Nelson Riddle's arrangements, which manage to rethink these standards in fresh yet reverent ways.

Jesus and Yahweh: The Names Divine
Harold Bloom
Penguin, 256 pp, $15.00
There is very little evidence of the historical Jesus-who he was or what he said. And so Bloom has used his unsurpassed skills as a literary critic to examine the character of Jesus, noting the inconsistencies, contradictions, and logical flaws throughout the Gospels. He also examines the character of Yahweh, who he finds has more in common with Mark's Jesus than he does with God the Father of the Christian and later rabbinic Jewish traditions. Bloom further argues that the Hebrew Bible of the Jews and the Christian Old Testament are very different books with very different purposes, political as well as religious.
